The Cardinals have their backs against the (Fenway) wall….Yikes. I know it’s bad karma to root against a team, but will the Cardinals please stage a comeback and beat the Red Sox at Fenway?

He is always a pleasure to read. As regards the Stephen Drew at-bat, though, I think the description “trifling” is a little, well, off-base. No at-bat in the 7th inning of a tied World Series game five is trifling, and the Red Sox who haven’t been hitting (i.e., most of them) have had a way of being the ones to beat you (hello, Johnny Gomes). Perhaps it is a statistical inevitability—these guys have to get a hit sometime—but I think that psychologically it’s ruinous for the Cardinals, because it conveys the impression that the Sox have many weapons….
