Can We Suspend Ben Stein Too?

I didn’t realize he was quite so troglodytic.
From his American Spectator article on Dominique Strauss-Kahn:
Can anyone tell me any economists who have been convicted of violent sex crimes? Can anyone tell me of any heads of nonprofit international economic entities who have ever been charged and convicted of violent sexual crimes? Is it likely that just by chance this hotel maid found the only one in this category?
Bizarre and disturbing.

Now the defense is saying they’ll claim it was consensual. Unless, they’re also going to claim she was a prostitute, I don’t know how this will help DSK’s case. I mean a hotel maid has nothing better to do?

I usually find Maureen Dowd a bit over the top, but her op ed piece today makes many good points.

Stephen Clarke is also spot on.

If there is DNA in this case, the only defense can be consent. That seems crazy, but this woman is about to face an ugly truth about American justice and French hypocritical moral sensibilities … both can be very ugly.
