Just a heads-up: Next week I’ll be leaving on vacation, and almost surely won’t be able to blog during it. (Check the link, you’ll see why.)
Never fear: SITD will return when I do.

Since Richard is going to be away (and I have no doubt he needs that trip to Mexico), the natives are going to have to get along on their own. I’m not going to babysit you either and my opinions seem to have the effect of clearing the room so there is not much point in my being here either. Not being qualified to discuss the the financial state of the country or the goings on at Harvard, I do find them interesting and I think it is such a great opportunity for people like SE and RT and Sam Spektor to have an opportunity to get together to discuss things. Have always enjoyed seeing that happen. In the meantime, I have a thousand things of my own to deal with. There are some days when I think the only way I could get away from them all is to go to the moon (which, by the way, I would have loved to do and I watched every Apollo flight but that’s another story, not to mention Dr. Ballard’s visits to the wrecks of the Titanic, the Bismarck, the Lusitania and the Yorktown and I really need to rest my head. It is Easter weekend, time for family and friends, spring is coming…(the grass is ris, I wonder where the birdies is) and I’m knee deep in mortgages, birthdays, children, grand-children, and renovations to the home and garden that is my sanctuary. They all need me more than you do. They are what I worked all my life for.
