The Super Bowl Awaits

The Globe reports that Patriots fans, all fired up about the possibility of a 19-o season, are driving Super Bowl tix to record highs.
Don’t waste your money, Pats fans. Your boys are going down!
(Clearly, I have become more confident in the past 24 hours.)
Pats fans are paying as much as $10k for a seat on the 50-yard line.
Which is, of course, just the kind of thing that makes you root for the underdog, storybook, hardscrabble, blue collar, ordinary Joe Giants…..
Plaxico Burress burns Al Harris for the umpeenth time in Sunday’s legendary victory
against the Packers.

you’re right, Eli “1st Round Draft Pick Who Forced a Draft Day Trade Because He’s a Member of Football’s Royal Family” Manning and the rest of his squad are just ordinary, lunchpail Joes compared to Tom “Picked #199 as a Backup from Michigan” Brady and his boys.
I can’t get behind an team that has won 10 road games straight (including 3 playoff games, 2 of which against teams it lost to earlier in the season) to make the SB as “ordinary”. It’s one thing to be the Dolphins and be called ordinary. It’s another to be playing for the Lombardi. These are both elite teams playing in the same, salary-capped league.
All that being said, the Pats are going to whip the Giants’ butts.
