The New York Times has hired Bill Kristol as a columnist for 2008.
What a surprising and original choice. No wonder that newspaper is doing so well!

More than that - a disgraceful choice. An intellectually dishonest and cynical partisan who, every week in his magazine, found a way to urge on more of the same in Iraq and call it hopeful & promising. Didn’t Eric Alterman write a column about the fine rewards these journalistic war enthusiasts were getting, despite being wrong month after month for years? He mentioned Kristol and his Time column. Now, of all places, the Times. I feel badly let down by the newspaper, and wish there was some way to punish it for this choice.

But Kristol MUST be good. He was appointed more than once to teach at Harvard (thanks to Harvey Mansfield and Michael Sandel). If he is good enough for Harvard, then he must be good enough for the TIMES.
Take that, eadw.
