It’s Going to be to an Interesting Off-Season

Will Joe Torre and Don Mattingly coach together again in Los Angeles?
The Yankees hire Joe Girardi. (I think it’s the right choice.)
Will the Mets sign A-Rod? (Hilarious. Just what a jinxed organization needsâa jinxed player.)
Will the Yankees sign Mike Lowell? (I hope not. Too old, and he’ll never have a better season than he just did.)
Are the Red Sox the new Yankees?
Everyone blasts A-Rod and Scott Boras:
Murray Chass:
So goes the sincerity of a player whose personality at first blush is so engaging that he can dupe experienced reporters, as he did me 10 years ago. I have since learned that he is not what he appears to be on the surface, and whether he allows Boras to manipulate him or agrees with his strategy, he comes across as disingenuous.

What a bunch of sentimental hogwash. This has been a game about money for a long long time, and it wasn’t the players who made it that way. What kind of “sincerity” is Chass looking for? Lemonade stands, picket fences and that lovely sound when a baseball hits the old glove? Does he want players who think “Take Me Out to the Ballpark” is a rousing song? Rodriguez not what he appears to be on the surface? Ooooohhh, wow, that’s a real bummer man. He’s got levels, dark hidden passageways, Machiavellian agendas — my god, he’s the Devil!
For Chrissake, grow up. Alex Rodriguez has an ego. The size of Alaska. He’s about the money.l He consorts with strippers. He’s not nice. He’s not “sincere”. Geez, was Babe Ruth sincere?
And yeah, sure, AR doesn’t hit in the playoffs. But he puts the keezers in the lawn chairs. Relax and have a lemonade.

Actually, I’m not so sure that A-Rod is the draw that he claims to be. This has never really been established, has it?

When Rodriguez’ homerun hunt starts heating up, you bet he’ll put fans in the stands. That’s the whole longterm game plan he and Boras are banking on.

While the rest of us will bank on a career-ending injury to come along before we have to endure that shiite. I’m not pulling for a plane crash or anything, just a nagging knee injury or something similar.
Bonds’s hunt sucked. So A-Rod’s would suck in an all-natural sort of way, it would still suck.

And it would suck more if he were playing in Fenway.
On this, fans of the Yankees and the BoSox can agree.

A-Rod a Shiite? Geez, I could have sworn he was Sunni!

That last comment was as lame as ARod’s post season playing. ;P

I HATE A-ROD!
