Is This Racist?

An Alabama TV station has aired a segment detailing how members of an African-American community in Mobile have become convinced that they’ve seen a leprechaun hiding in a tree.
The website youtube.com has it posted, but apparently a lot of bloggers aren’t touching it because either they think it’s racist, or they think that blogging about it will make them look racist.
What do you think?

What everyone is tiptoeing around here is a simple question that I’m sure Dave Chappelle would have no hesitation in asking: what the hell is a bunch of black folk doing seeing an Irish leprechaun?

So is this thing a satire, or is it for real?

Wouldn’t it be racist to think Blacks incapable of having a little fun at our expense?

Tsk-tsk? I’m confused.
It has to be a satire, though. I mean…look at the drawing of the leprechaun. But I don’t know whether it’s trying to tap into our biases about African-Americans or biases about Alabama… Both, I guess.
