  He's Gone
Karl Rove is leaving the White House. Who will tie the president's shoes now?

(The Journal broke the story first, apparently. The Globe will get it in a few days.)

Comments:
Richard,
Interesting that you used the word apparently.
Sam Spektor

Not really.

Did The WSJ break the story first?

I think they broke it by way of Rove taking out an op-ed in the WSJ, right?

The WSJ actually broke it in a "Commentary" piece by Paul Gigot (editorial page editor of the Journal), which was based on his interview with Rove.

Richard,
The Journal broke the story first. Period! It didn't break the story first, "apparently." Even the NYT gave the Journal the credit in a double size headline earlier today on line.

Sam,

You're being paranoid about this. I wasn't trying to undercut the Journal; I like the Journal. I was starting from a Washington Post article, saw the Journal referenced, and wrote the sentence I did--the "apparently" was a reference to my own initial link to the post. Like saying, "Whoops, the Journal broke the story first, here's that link." If it came across otherwise, no slight was intended.
