  Bush Goes on the Offensive
And I do mean offensive.

Today he had the audacity to say that we should stay in Iraq in order to prevent the kind of bloodshed that happened after we withdrew from Vietnam. (The Times blog has a nice analysis of this argument.)

Perhaps the president should say that to this Iraq veteran and his bride, who were photographed by Nina Berman, whose remarkable work is written up in today's Times.

Comments:
Berman is just fantastically gifted. I'm a huge fan. I saw this picture and read their story months ago. The bride's face is as moving as the groom's. It's just incredible.

Now if that was Henry Hager's and Jenna Bush's wedding photo, I wonder how long we'd stay in Iraq........

eayny

I read the article and looked at the other photos, which are just amazing. This one is truly extraordinary. What courage this couple demonstrates. I simply can't imagine the tough times they will be facing.

Me neither, Judith, me neither.
