  Jeremy Bloxham Says No
In all the excitement today, what with curricular reform and Larry Summers' severance package going public, let us not forget about the importance of Adam Goldenberg's report that Jeremy Bloxham turned down the FAS deanship, and not just because Bloxham was my pick.

Let us assume the story is true; Goldenberg certainly believes it is.

Okay, folks. So why did he say no? And if it's not Bloxham, then who? And when? It's getting a little late in the game....

Comments:
Where's the post on Summers' severance package? I'm particulary interested in what you have to say about the Crimson's implicit criticism of you (and itself):

Summers’ severance pay has been the subject of much speculation in the year since he stepped down. A June 2006 article in Boston Magazine cited a source saying the sum would be “breathtaking.” The Crimson quoted two sources in June 2006 who said the amount would be “huge.”

Appears it is true.
Look at Today's Crimson (May 21).
