Jeffrey Epstein: DId He Get the Kid-Glove Treatment?
A number of news reports suggest that the Palm Beach police have shown the kind of gentle treatment to Jeffrey Epstein that it wouldn't show to, say, someone who isn't worth a few billion dollars. Epstein at one point was offered a plea bargain which, among other things, mandated that he have no unsupervised conduct with minors.

Epstein was given months to respond—an option not generally given to people suspected of regularly hiring 15-year-olds for sex—but something went wrong and he failed to respond to the offer. In any case, according to the Smoking Gun, "police investigators--who anticipated five felony counts being lodged against Epstein--were incensed at what they clearly viewed as a sweetheart prosecution offer."

Comments:
Sure looks like it, but that's the way it's always been.

Instead of arguing about whether anyone should take pleasure in Epstein's downfall (what seems to be what the posters have been discussing), let's see what kind of downfall it is. And start at Harvard. So far I dont see any sign that his friends at Harvard are distancing themselves from him. As far as I can tell there has been no publicity here at all, except on this blog and smoking gun. Maybe Harvard should not have to return the money, but some kind of statement is necessary if he is convicted, given how much Rosovsky and Summers did to enhance his reputation.

Has anyone mentioned this irony: one of Epstein's main jobs was overseeing Victoria's Secret?

I got a hunk of burning love to deliver to Jeffrey Epstein. Guess which foramen?

Check your geography, Richard. Pebble Beach is not in "La-La Land," as you say.

Jeffrey Epstein is an open checkbook to Harvard. Spend some time and read the police report on the smoking gun. If he gets away with this behavior, then there is something very wrong. He molested many many undraged girls after luring them into his home. He is a pedophile, the worst kind of sexual predator.

Why is the Crimson ignoring this story? The Harvard connection is significant.

Unless, of course, I was writing metaphorically.

"a retreat hosted by Rupert Murdoch in Los Angeles" is not metaphoric!

Whoops. You are absolutely correct. I was referring to the La-La Land part, but had forgotten that I'd written what you quote. I bow my head in geographic shame.

Looking at the Palm Beach police report, if even 5% is true, it would seem that Epstein is in need of a great deal of help (from a psychological standpoint). Wow!

Preceded by a few years in the slammer, with some more adult company.
