i hate that the world we live in has made me so hardened as to not react as harshly as i should to this picture.
then again, something FAR worse happened today over at the supreme court, and the number of future female casualties far outnumbers those bombed today. sorry, i’m already weeping for the soil we already live on.

Yeah, our God-given right to kill 3rd trimester fetuses by smashing their skulls and sucking their brains out was taken away by those bastards on the Supreme Court. It certainly is a horrible day for women.

On the question of anonymity for victims/accusers of sexual assaults…what about the older sister of the VT shooter? She has been identified by name, current job, home address, Princeton class of ’04, etc. Fair? Unduly harmful? Princetonian reporters called her on her cell to try to get a comment…was that too intrusive? (During all the controversy about Larry Summers, for example, the Crimson reporters didn’t contact his family, ex-wife, etc, for interviews…I had presumed there was a line between public figures and private citizens who are relatives of public figures)

Wow. I went back, having not read yesterday’s posts and comments in full. I don’t want to call anyone names, Richard, but I must say that I now wish I had never clicked on this particular string of comments, because Grumpygirl managed-with her two cents worth-to seize the trophy (in a landslide) of Most Ignorant Comment Ever on SITD. Alas, we hardly knew ye, Grumpy…thank God. Woooo.
