Panic at Fenway?

Here’s the Globe’s Nick Cafardo on last night’s 5-4 Red Sox loss to the Royals:
Remember when Red Sox Nation was ready to panic in the streets? It was premature. But maybe now . . .
The Yankees almost blew a 7-0 lead before hanging on to beat the White Sox, 7-6, last night, increasing their lead over the Sox to three games. Two nights ago, the Yanks lost to the White Sox and the Red Sox had a chance to cut the gap to a lonely game, but they lost the first of two straight to the Royals, who are, frankly, abysmal.
What’s going on here? What say you, Red Sox Nation? Panic time?

Don’t taunt them and rile them up. Let them slip quietly into deserved obscurity.

Careful. If you show too much Yankee bias, the BoSox people aren’t going to talk to you. And you know what that’s like.

It’s not about bias, it’s just what’s happening.

Get back to me in a month’s time, Rich. Similar to ESPN and their coverage of record breaking pursuits, you’re being a bit premature here. Akin to their love of projecting final numbers with limited samples (ie “He hit five homers in the last 10 games putting him on pace to smash the single season homerun record!”), you’re jumping the gun…lot o’ ball yet to be played.
Go Sox!

Hey, I’m not the one suggesting panic—far from it. These things can turn around fast. It was the Boston Globe which brought it up.

The Globe is owned by the Times so go figure. No one in Boston pays any attention to it since the Times bought it.
The new people (post Taylor family) running the Globe franchise couldn’t empty a boot full of water if the directions were written on the sole and it shows in circulation, ad revenue and the product!
