Two Free Agent Question Marks
Can the Yankees' Kei Igawa, a $50 million investment, defy expectations that he's a total bust?
(God, he looked terrible last year—absolutely shell-shocked.)
After getting rocked for a grand slam by a college player a few days ago, Igawa got six straight outs yesterday....
And can the Red Sox's J.D. Drew defy the conventional wisdom that he's a semi-bust?
A career .284 hitter with 20- to 30-home run power, Drew was signed to take care of right field, both defensively and as a key hitter in the lineup, in the No. 5 spot, where he would protect Manny RamÃrez. He didn't.
Though he did come up big late in the season, especially in Game Six of the ALCS.....
Not a good sign: Drew is studying for his pilot's license.... ¶ 7:12 AM
