  Valentine's Day in New Orleans
I'm headed south for Valentine's Day, folks—going to visit my family in the Big Easy. I'll blog as I can. (I've determined it's possible, though not easy, to blog from the iPhone.)

Meantime...Happy Valentine's Day!

Here's hoping that you've found your true love, or are about to. Sure, it's a fake holiday. But it's a nice one, don't you think?

Have a great time. Since you seem to be a music fan, here's some suggestions for the weekend:

Thursday:

Rebirth Brass Band at Howling Wolf
Geno Delafose at the Rock N Bowl
Johnny Vidacovich at the Maple Leaf (which you need to go to just for the pilgrimage)

Friday
Rebirth at Tipitinas (if you missed them at Howling Wolf)

Saturday
Kermit Ruffins at the Blue Nile
Snooks Eaglin at the Rock N Bowl

And then Sunday, to get a little mellow, check out Evan Christopher and Tom McDermott (who do ragtime and pre-ragtime New Orleans music) at Snug Harbor. Also, if you can, see the Wild Magnolias at Handa Wanda's to get a little dose of Mardi Gras Indians.

Hope this helps

Valentine's Day is only nice if you are with someone who is appreciating you. Otherwise it sucks and makes you feel like crap. For most people, it sucks.

Sounds like you need a hug. (((hug)))
Change is the only constant.
It'll get better, hon.

I think valentines day can be nice but only if celebrated on some other day , we chose 2/13th this year and enjoyed dinner at sweet plantain restaurant, coral bay, st.john, USVI, I recommend it. Kids appreciate valentines day more than adults.EBR
