  The New Chant
Yankee fans used to be able to chant "1918"—pronounced nine-teen, eight-teen, followed by a kind of Bo Diddley hand-clap—whenever their team was playing the Sox.

And then 2004 came along. End of chant.

I wonder if they will not soon chant, with a similar punctuation, "18 and 1"—as in, eight-teen and one! Eight-teen and one!

I'm just thinking out loud here, of course.....

There is no question that 18 and 1 will be the new chant. I was watching the game at the Mirage sportsbook in Vegas and the Giant fans were chanting 18 and 1 before the game was even over.

I think "Nobody's Perfect!" is a much better tagline. The Post has run about as far with this 18-1 business as it deserves to be run.
