  More Clinton Pathetic-ness
The Clinton camp is accusing Barack Obama of plagiarizing from Deval Patrick.

“Don’t tell me words don’t matter,” he said in his remarks. “ ‘I have a dream.’ Just words? ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal.’ Just words? ‘We have nothing to fear but fear itself.’ Just words? Just speeches?”

The passage was similar to one used by Mr. Patrick in response to similar criticism.

Imagine—one African-American leader using similar language to another African-American leader when discussing a legendary civil rights speech. Unthinkable!

The Clintons must really be desperate....they are being shoved off the national stage, and they are scratching and clawing to hold on. The problem is, every sleazy attack like this reminds people of why they support Obama rather than Hillary in the first place....

Comments:
I don't recall Hillary crediting Mario Cuomo when she delivered, last month, her memorable line about campaigning in poetry, but "governing in prose." I keep hoping some pundit will bring that episode up, but I don't see it yet...

The pathetic thing about the Clinton attack is that it is so misdirected. The real question is not one of dishonesty (everyone borrows from everyone else at this level) but humility. Has Obama ever given a speech to put him in the same league with WInston Churchill or MLK Jr.? Has he ever given a speech that so inspired people that it actually moved them to do something? If not, his rhetoric is indeed "just words."
