Are we just voting for personality? If so, then I don't see that Obama is more appealing than Hillary . . . he just sounds vague and preacherly to me, even "cocky" as slate put it. I'm hoping that we can see the candidates battle it out a little longer, perhaps bringing issues into better focus.
The Crimson has a couple of interesting stories on the fragile moral values of Harvard students and graduates. On the one hand it is commendable that the Crimson wants these issues aired. Perhaps the conversation about them will get the students in the college to think a bit about ethics.
On the other hand it is troubling to think that these things happen at America's premier college...

So SE, what I don't get is how you could be so wrong here, since the result ended up being pretty much what everyone has predicted for the last few days. Just wishful thinking, heart over head? You're usually on the mark, so much so I almost expected Huckabee to win.

Yeah, I jumped the gun. Not enough evangelicals in this state and not easy enough for change voters to cross over to Obama if they're registered Republican. Expected McCain voters to stay home and Romney voters to be better at reading the writing on the wall.
Romney's done -- but will make a big last stand in Michigan, where he and Huckabee are tied. He will disrupt McCain there. Meanwhile, McCain will face again his nemesis-state, South Carolina, and has to figure out how to keep the campaign from being about the war. If it's about the war he can't beat Huckabee, who is untainted and talks commonsensically.
I'm confident we're going to see Huckabee nominated. It was wishful thinking that NH would get to break the story.....
