Harvard is to Hogwarts As.... So J.K. Rowling will be this year's commencement speaker at Harvard. Interesting! I don't decry it, because, let's face it, Rowling has changed the world, and she has created wonderful stories that have been read by millions upon millions of children and adults. That's certainly an accomplishment worth rewarding.

I do think it suggests, along with The Great Debaters, that Harvard is making conspicuous efforts to accomodate itself to the great onrushing power of pop culture....  ¶ 3:31 PM
