Cleveland was outscored 30-5 in the last 3 games, in spite of the Sox not getting as much out of their first three at bats last night as they should have. We spotted them a man on second with Lugo's error, but they insisted on repaying the favor by holding Lofton at third while Manny was doing his best to concede the tying run. The umpiring had nothing to do with the outcome of the series. But you do have to feel sorry for Cleveland; at the end they looked like they were taking it pretty hard.
You have to admit that Cleveland made a lot of errors in the last two games even though they were not registered as errors-last night a pop up at third base that fell btw the ss and 3rd baseman, throwing a ball of Youk's head in a run down when he was a dead duck, dropping a ball at second on a tag out and there are more I just can't remember them all- bad news bears kinda of stuff that said they probably were feeling the heat. They are a great team but a little young and it showed.
Hey, didn't Coco look like Fred Lynn out there last night?
The Sox got lucky-bats worked and some chance came into play with timing and the Sox were able to capitalise on it. The Indians made it a great series. Wed in Boston -should be interesting. No predictions since it's Boston, the Red Sox and October - anything can and will happen.
Anyone else get the feeling that Tim McCarver was growing senile during the broadcast? By about the third or fourth game I started noticing how often he corrected himself.
"Six of nine in this series...make that seven of nine this series...actually make that last series, this series he's two of ten..."
I think the 2:17 poster was talking about the Bosox. I.e., the Tribe's collapse looked a lot like the many, many Red Sox collapses of yore. Yeah, could have been the Yankee collapse of a few seasons ago, but that doesn't track as well.
