  Monday Morning Song

Something about this Depeche Mode song, "Home," matches my Labor Day mood—perhaps its quality of bittersweet wistfulness. It reminds me of a Cheever short story. A collection of them, really—watch carefully. It's beautifully directed, and a lovely song to boot.

I don't get the Cheever connection at all. Maybe a poor man's Thom Jones, but Cheever? I don't see it.
