  They Eat Dinosaurs, Don't They?
From the Associated Press:

BEIJING (AP) -- Villagers in central China dug up a ton of dinosaur bones and boiled them in soup or ground them into powder for traditional medicine, believing they were from flying dragons and had healing powers....

Comments:
Villagers on an island in the Eastern U.S. gorged on "energy drinks" and performed strange exercises on "pilates" machines believing it would provide them the "zenlike calm" necessary to continue assaulting the biosphere......

I don't get it.

I don't either. And I wrote it.

It makes perfect sense -- our bizarre cultural rituals are just as "strange" as those of these villagers. Right, anonymous?

Seems like a superficially clever analogy, but one that breaks down pretty fast given any serious thought.

To Anon 12:03 - Right. That is what I meant and thank you for saying it makes "perfect sense". I was starting to believe my bad press. I disagree that the analogy is superficial, but then I may be missing what the "serious" point of the original post was.
