  The Shame of Japan
Japan's main whaling ship returned to port yesterday with its haul of 508 slaughtered whales.

Japan claims that its whaling is for "scientific" purposes, but has not explained what scientific knowledge is gleaned from the carcasses of over 500 whales, which are instantly carved up to be sold in Japanese supermarkets. (Under a government subsidy, by the way.)

Until Japan stops its massacres of whales and dolphins, consumers should boycott Japanese-made goods.....

Comments:
Be careful. Next you'll dig into China's environmental policies and discover reasons to boycott Chinese goods. Then we won't have any toys. Or clothes.

so, let me get this straight, no Panasonic TV, no Sony playstation, no rides in a Honda, no Godzilla films....I'm assuming you have checked the make of all your electronic devices, including your cell phone.....

It is the blogger's job to articulate a bold vision for us to follow, to lead the way with his words. What he does in his own personal life is simply irrelevant. This kind of snarkism ought to be DELETED.

it's curious how often those who comment on this blog want other comments deleted. Wonder what that says about American traditions of tolerance and free speech? Disagree, sure. Delete, no.

Anon 2:09, you are far too forgiving and therefore full of shit. Delete that.

Now, now, gentlemen. Just for the record, deletion is an extreme measure and only rarely used. It's contrary to the spirit of the Internet and contrary to the spirit of the United States...at least before George Bush was president. I would rather err on the side of freedom than err on the side of tyranny.

LOL.
