No apologies necessary. There are lots of different kinds of stingrays, and I don't know what kind killed Irwin. But it'd be something similar, yes.
The fish, by the way, actually nudges the stingray along to keep it feeding, and then feeds itself from the stingray's scraps....

In fact, there are roughly 400 different kinds of stingrays (not counting the car).
