  Tracy McGrady, Evildoer
Lest we confuse this blog with Open University...

Houston Rockets star Tracy McGrady went to Hong Kong on a promotional tour for Adidas the other day, and while he was there, he happily supped on a bowl of shark fin soup. This just weeks after his more enlightened teammate, Yao Ming, called for his fellow Chinese to stop eating the "delicacy," which results in the slaughter of millions of sharks every year. Ugh. Tracy McGrady, evildoer.

This news comes, by the way, from one of my favorite websites, UnderwaterTimes.com. Where else could you find stories like "Strange Creature Found on Russian Coastline Baffles Locals"? (What is that thing?)

Or: "Exclusive! Necropsy Photos released from World Record Pregnant Hammerhead Shark"? (You remember, the one caught by that idiotic "sport" fisherman in Florida.) Those little hammerheads sure do look like the monster in Alien in the famous stomach scene.

I heartily recommend it....

Comments:
Scientific discovery is good. Scientists learned a lot from the autopsy of that hammerhead. They would not have had the opportunity to conduct the autopsy had the idiot sport fisherman not caught the hammerhead. Ergo the idiot sport fisherman's action is good. Is he nevertheless an evildoer?

They learned a lot? Like what?

Funny how the scientists themselves
said they wished that the idiot
sport fisherman hadn't killed the shark.

From your cite: "Experts previously believed that great hammerheads gave birth to 20 to 40 pups at a time, so the information gathered from [the autopsy of] this shark is new knowledge about the species."

Funny.

Shows you what I get when I don't read my own citations all the way. Nonetheless, the scientists did say that they'd have preferred not to have found this out in that fashion.
