Larry Summers Really Does Have a Blog!
The New York Observer points out that the New Republic's new academic blog, Open University, lists 17 male contributors (of whom Larry Summers is one) and (oops) three female...

Maybe women just don't have an intrinsic aptitude for blogging?

Good one, richard!

Maybe LS can explain in his blog his real talent to mangle everything he touches. A reverse Midas Touch of sorts.

An interesting piece of evidence to examine would be the last Staff Survey Report conducted last term. While the Survey was supposed to be widely publicized in the Human Resources Newspaper of the University it has instead been closely guarded. The survey is available to staff and faculty on a password proctected website.

The results of that survey show that the worst performing units at Harvard, those with greatest employee disatisfaction, are those where LS intervened the most: the University Arts Museums and the Education School, where he appointed not one but two deans.

The best performing units? Those that were able to keep LS at bay: the Medical School and the Law School. Kudos for Dean Kagan!

The survey report is filled with fascinating findings. The area Harvard staff are less satisfied with? Diversity.
