Writing in the St. Petersburg (Florida) Times, Sue Carlton agrees with me: catching and killing a hammerhead shark just to set a record is pointless slaughter.... And she notes some encouraging news: In
a poll on a fishing website, 61% of respondents answered that it was "never" okay to kill a shark for the purpose of setting a record. I don't see why it isn't, oh, 98%, but 61% is a good start.
