  We Hate President Bush
Well, 60% of Americans disapprove of his performance as president, anyway, including 47% of Americans who strongly disapprove. The greatest number of people who strongly disapproved of Bill Clinton, even during his greatest troubles? 33%.

Grim numbers for Republicans. I wonder if they can change much until the situation in Iraq changes...because we all know by now that the president deceived the public in leading us to war. How does one get past that?

Comments:
well richard friend, i myself also dislike(polite characterisation) George Bush.US policies made not only me but also most greeks antiamericans. I wish for Bush to move on to the Hollywood business, I see a huge acting talent and a step closer to a safer planet...

Nice moniker.

Mmmm, I noticed that too.

He's only as good an actor as is his supporting cast, and unfortunately, they're not on the short list for admittance to Julliard.

The shift is due to the natural dislike of losing troops and floundering in the occupation. Almost no war in the past would have been tolerated under today's media scrutiny. If you only believe in fighting wars with no casualties and 100% assurance of victory, then you might as well pack it up and head for Tibet because you don't believe in war under any possible circumstance. Bush and co did mislead as war propaganda machines do, opting for simplifications over substantive enlightenment. The fact remains that there were plenty of reasons that we had to face up to Saddam. Just because the ones Bush stressed were a poor choice does not change the underlying absolute that Saddam did indeed have to go. America hates to lose. As for the opinion of other countries, how does most of MLB feel about the Yankees? Being the only true world leader, you have to expect the envy and contempt of other nations. That doesn't necessarily mean you've done anything wrong--other than, in this case, topple a viscious dictator and foster democracy. Stand or fail, a noble endeavor to be sure AND worth lives. The world is full of cowards, someone must do the thankless job of protecting the free world--the UN is not interested. Who else will do the job? No one--a world, a culture, of victims. And if you drag out the old "it's all about oil" mantra, then please do follow Michael Moore and Al Gore, making yourself easily identifiable and, therefore, ignored. Cheers.
