  Is This Racist?
An Alabama TV station has aired a segment detailing how members of an African-American community in Mobile have become convinced that they've seen a leprechaun hiding in a tree.

The website youtube.com has it posted, but apparently a lot of bloggers aren't touching it because either they think it's racist, or they think that blogging about it will make them look racist.

What do you think?

Comments:
What everyone is tiptoeing around here is a simple question that I'm sure Dave Chappelle would have no hesitation in asking: what the hell is a bunch of black folk doing seeing an Irish leprechaun?

In a tree in Alabama, no less....

Different state, same tree

So is this thing a satire, or is it for real?

I think it's a satire and we all need to LIGHTEN up .

Wouldn’t it be racist to think Blacks incapable of having a little fun at our expense?

Tsk..Tsk..

Tsk-tsk? I'm confused.

It has to be a satire, though. I mean...look at the drawing of the leprechaun. But I don't know whether it's trying to tap into our biases about African-Americans or biases about Alabama... Both, I guess.
