  Alan Greenspan: Totally Boring
As you may know, Penguin Press is paying Alan Greenspan $8.5 million to write a memoir. Now, I know Alan Greenspan was very important, and knows a lot about money (including, apparently, how to cash in), but the man hasn't produced an interesting sentence in 30 years. Habits of speaking don't die easily, no matter how skilled the ghostwriter. (If you don't believe me, try reading Bob Rubin's memoir. With books like this, who needs Tylenol PM?) When I read the news of Greenspan's book deal, I thought, Penguin is going to lose their shirt on this one...

Now Michael Kinsley has written a parody of Greenspan's prose that is spot-on. In fact, it's so accurate, I had trouble reading to the end...and it can't be more than 500 words long.

I'll be honest, though: If I were a publisher, I'd pay a good amount of money for a book from Larry Summers. Now, there's a man who knows how to be provocative....
