  The Seahawks Wuz Robbed!
After watching yesterday's Super Bowl, anyone who was reasonably impartial or rooting for Seattle could come to only one possible conclusion: the referees wanted Pittsburgh to win.

Time after time, a bad call drained the Seahawks momentum and cost them points. The offensive pass interference which cost the 'hawks a touchdown? You've got to be kidding me. The third-quarter holding call which robbed them of a first down as they were driving for a go-ahead touchdown? Puh-leeze. Roethlisberger's touchdown? A close call...so of course it went to the Steelers.

You couldn't blame the Seahawks for looking disheartened. They beat the Steelers...only to lose the game.

All of which raises a question: Why can't you ask for a video review of a penalty call? I don't know what the rationale for that rule is—except perhaps to spare the refs embarrassment—but the if that offensive pass interference call could have been reviewed, the Seahawks would have had the touchdown they deserved....

I totally understand the feeling. It was like, "Oh, come on! Let them play!"

Roethlisberger did make it in. A few of my friends had the same opinions as yourself. After watching in super slow/stop "DVR" they all agreed the ball broke the plain by about 1/4 inch, and was pushed back by contact. Ok so you still dont believe he made it. 4th and 1/4 of an inch on the goal Pittsburg still gets 7
The hold WAS a hold, grant you teams dont always get called on it. Keep in mind the defender had a direct line on Hasselbeck, and clipped his heels even after the hold. Maybe Hasselbeck gets hit and loses the ball if the hold didnt happen, but it did.
And the pass interference was OBVIOUS. You cant extend your elbow when you push off a defender, hench pushing off/pass interference. You can see the defenders momentum go the other way due to the contact.
If you want to whine and cry, I will agree, Hasselbecks tackle/block after the interception was a bad call. Boo Hoo 15 yards. Jim

Roethlisberger was a tough call; could have gone either way. IMHO, it was called as it was because he snuck the ball over, and then once the call was made, there wasn't enough clarity to reverse it. Could have gone either way.

Offensive pass interference on that play? Not a chance. If you called that, you'd have to call interference every time a receiver laced up his shoes. You can see the receiver falling away from the defender as he goes to catch the ball; he can't push off, because his momentum is already going the other way.

And that holding call—not a chance. Even John Madden didn't see it...and he's pretty conservative about this stuff.

And don't forget, the refs tried to hand Pittsburgh a fumble from Hasselbeck after he'd been touched and hit the ground, but that call was so blatantly bad even they had to reverse it.

The Seahawks wuz robbed!
